Calling all 3rd-5th Graders—Come join us on Fri., Mar. 7, from 5 to 7 pm for a fun evening of exploring your Bible. Bring your Bible and get to know it better while playing games & decorating it with your friends. Who can solve the mystery clues the fastest? Do you know what books of the Bible are known as the Law and which ones are the Gospels? Share your favorite verse. Eat pizza. Parents: drop off your 3rd-5th grade child in room 211/212 at 5 pm and come back at 6:45 pm to join us for a special Bible Commissioning Ceremony.
Heritage UMC is hosting an opportunity to exchange your clean, gently-used children’s clothing for donated clothing from other families. Drop off your outgrown clothes at Heritage UMC on Friday evening March 7 from 5 to 7 pm. The bag or box that you bring on Friday containing the clothing you are donating will be marked with your name. Then on Saturday, morning March 8th from 9 to 11 am, you may fill the same bag or box you brought with “new” clothing to meet your needs. Sizes from newborn through elementary school are welcome. First come, first served with kindness in our midst. No guarantee on sizes and/or quantities. All leftover clothing will be donated to a local charity.
We will be holding a SINGLE blended-style worship service at 9:45 am on Sunday, March 30 followed by a potluck brunch/lunch (about 11 am); there will be no Sunday School on that date. So, mark your calendars for our first Faith & Fellowship on the 5th!
Join us for an Easter party for children ages 3 years through 5th grade on Saturday, April 12th, 2 – 4 pm. This event will be fun for all with crafts, storytelling, egg dying and an egg hunt. Parents, please plan to accompany your children for the duration of the event.
We will be holding a SINGLE worship service at 9:45 am on Sunday, April 13 that will feature “Witness,” an Easter musical cantata. “Witness” takes us to the heart of the Passion Story as we view Christ’s journey to the cross through the varied eyewitness accounts of devout believers, angry deniers, and puzzled skeptics. This musical story is a skillful blend of original and familiar melodies with scripture-based narrative that provides a dramatic experience culminating in this challenge to today’s believers: “Will you be a witness?”
Let us worship together as we remember the Last Supper of Jesus and his final days before his crucifixion. We will celebrate communion and offer foot or hand washing so that we may intimately experience the meaning of being a servant, and of being served, as Jesus showed by personal example to his disciples.
We are pleased to offer three worship services on Easter Sunday to celebrate the joy of Jesus Christ’s resurrection as our Lord and Savior:
Our Traditional Worship service begins at 8:30 am. It is our value to have our children of all ages participate with us in worship (even when they are wiggly) as we learn and provide community together. But for those parents who would like an alternative option for their children, there will be supervised activities (Kid’s Club in Room 211) during worship for children, ages 3 years to 5th grade.
At 9:30 until 11:00 am, the “Coffee & Fellowship” time is held in the Fellowship Hall. During this time ALL persons (regardless of worship time preference) can be together in fellowship as they snack and chat.
At 9:45 until 10:45 am, Sunday School for all ages (age 3 thru adults) will occur simultaneously. Together, as a church body, we will study, learn, and listen. Age-appropriate classes will be provided for children and youth. Adults will have multiple options from which to choose.
Our Non-Traditional Worship service, named as “The Conversation,” begins at 11:00 am. This style of worship is more conversational, relaxed, and more heavily music-driven than our traditional option. Again, during this worship service Kid’s Club will be offered for wiggly children, ages 3 years to 5th grade for parents who prefer this choice.
Child care for ages under 3 years old is provided in Child Care Room 123 and will be available from 8:30 am til 12 noon.
