During 2007, over 200 people in the congregation were involved in a comprehensive “revisioning” process to prayerfully discern how God is guiding this congregation. A new vision theme emerged which will now guide our many ministries and our life together at Heritage United Methodist Church. As part of the process, we have also identified five mission initiatives that will begin in 2008 and lead us more clearly toward the implementation of our vision theme. The downloadable PDF document below shares with you more of the details of that process and our completed ReVision and Mission Plan.

Our vision theme is: “Friends of Christ, Friends to Each Other”

Heritage United Methodist Church’s vision theme is the focus of our spiritually growing, faithful community of Christian friends.

Friends can be relied upon to give a higher level of commitment to each other. Christian friends are faithful to each other and to their shared dedication to offer empowering ministry to the world in Jesus’ name. As the body of Christ, we strive to reach out to the community with expressions of grace, love, justice, and hope to help establish and nurture sacred friendships.

Every ministry in our Church and every aspect of our life together will be formed and developed through the focused lens of friendship described in John 15:12-17 where Jesus said to his disciples:

"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another."
