Cinco de Mayo Dinner & Speaker - Sunday, May 2, 5 - 7 pm
The Mission and Outreach Team hosted a potluck supper celebrating Cinco De Mayo. After dinner, a speaker from La Puente in Alamosa spoke on poverty in Colorado.

Easter Worship - Sun. April 4, 9 & 10:30 am
Good Friday Worship - Fri. April 2, 7 pm
Maundy Thursday Worship - Thurs. April 1, 7 pm
Prayer Vigil for Haiti- Sunday, March 28, 1 - 5 pm
The Sanctuary was open for the purpose of prayer, focusing on the people of Haiti. Families, individuals, and couples alike were welcomed and encouraged to take part in this vigil.
Bonfils Blood Drive - Sunday, March 28, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
More than a dozen people rolled up their sleeves to donate blood and give the gift of life. Up to 3 lives will be saved or helped for each pint donated.
Children's Easter Party - Sat. March 27, 1 - 3 pm
The Easter party was for children ages 3 years through 5th grade. This event hosted fun for all with crafts, storytelling, egg dying and an egg hunt.
Lent Class: Personal Encounters with God - Sun. March 21, 12 - 1:30 pm
Children's Clothing Swap - Friday, March 12, 4 - 7 pm & Sat., March 13, 9 - 11 am
This was an opportunity to exchange your clean, gently-used children's clothing for donated clothing from other families.
Special Breakfast & Guest Speaker Event - Sat., March 6, 9 am.
We shared a meal and heard Pemba Dorjee Sherpa speak about his many adventures climbing Mt. Everest and other world-class peaks.

South Jeffco Youth Orchestra Concert - Sun., Feb. 21, 3 pm

Chili Cook-off and Dinner - Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner of chili, cornbread, and a fun dessert! This fundraiser support edour handbells who plan to attend a bell festival in Arizona in summer 2010.
Children & Youth Christmas Celebration - Sun., Dec. 13, 2009
The children and the youth groups performed three Christmas plays that told the story of the birth of Christ from their own perspectives. Refreshments followed the performances. More info:

Women's Christmas Brunch - Sat., Dec. 12, 2009
A fabulous brunch was shared by a multitude of women and was graciously served by the men of Heritage UMC. Each table was meticulously decorated with fine china, crystal, and silverware by one of many volunteer table hosts. This event is a special tradition at Heritage UMC.

Hanging of the Greens - Sat., Nov. 28, 2009
We worked together for the “Hanging of the Greens” as we prepared for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by decorating our sanctuary for the Advent season.
Thanksgiving Eve Worship - Wed., Nov. 25, 2009
We shared this special worship service to give thanks together.
Peacemakers Silent Auction - Sun., Nov. 22, 2009
A lovely variety of beautiful fabric items created by the Peacemakers were offered for sale during the Silent Auction. Proceeds benefited the Peacemakers to allow them to purchase more fabric to create healing quilts which are given to those experiencing challenges in their life, such as recovering from surgery. Everyone who would like to share fellowship and fun as they work on sewing projects is invited to get involved in this group. More info:

Pancake Breakfast to Benefit Habitat for Humanity - Sat., Nov. 7, 2009
Breakfast was served at Applebee's (5250 S. Wadsworth) for $6 per person. Net proceeds helped purchase more building materials for Habitat for Humanity.
Interfaith Community Choir Concert - Fri., Nov. 6, 2009 (at St. Francis Cabrini Church)
This concert featured 5 local church choirs who each performed 2 pieces. The highlight of the evening was when all 5 choirs joined together to sing a gospel rendition of Handel's Hallelujah chorus accompanied by a live orchestra.
Prayer Vigil - Sat. Oct. 10, 2009
veryone was invited to spend an hour (or more!) in quiet prayer. The prayer labyrinth was available as another kind of invitation to pray.
Electronics Recycling & Trash Day - Sat., Oct. 10, 2009
We offered an opportunity to safely dispose of unneeded electronics items (computers, printers, TVs, phones, stereo items). 
Young At Hearts Octoberfest Dinner - Friday, Oct. 16, 2009
Bratwurst, sauerkraut, and potato salad were enjoyed by everyone. Participants brought an appetizer or dessert to share, and a white elephant swap was held just for fun.
Family Bowling Night - Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009
All Church Mission Trip to Alamosa, Colorado - Fri. - Sun., Sept. 24 - 27, 2009
Participants performed light repairs, cooking, cleaning, etc. at the La Puente facility for the homeless in Alamosa, Colorado.
Teen Suicide Prevention Seminar - Sun., Sept. 13th, 2009
Jeff Lamontagne, the Executive Director of the Second Wind Fund, shared aninformation-filled program on teen suicide prevention.
Peacemakers All-Day Sewing Festival - Sat., Sept. 12, 2009
We delighted in a fun day-long event of fellowship and sewing with other sewing enthusiasts.
Children's Clothing Swap - Friday & Saturday, Sept. 11 & 12, 2009
This was an opportunity to exchange your clean, gently-used children's clothing with clothing from other families. Plan now to participate in the next Clothing Swap this spring in March 2010.
Growing A Vital Small Group Ministry - Mon., Aug. 31, 2009
Rev. Thomas Cross presented this informative and inspiring workshop leader or participants in any sort of small group.
Rockies Faith Day at Coors Field - Sunday. August 23, 2009
We enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship and baseball (Colorado Rockies beat the San Francisco Giants!) followed by a concert featuring MercyMe singing contemporary Christian music.

Vacation Bible School 2009 Monday-Friday, July 13-17, 2009

Morning Session (9 am - 12 noon) was available for ages 3 years up through those who just completed the 5th grade. Evening Session (5:30 - 8:00 pm) was available for ALL ages (newborn, children, youth, and adults!) CAMP E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School 2009 tookyour children to an extreme adventure camp where they Experienced and Discovered God Everywhere! CAMP E.D.G.E. VBS was not your typical stroll through the woods. It was an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition that taught kids their strength and might come from God. Through rockin' contemporary music, larger-than-life recreation games, mind-boggling science activities, extreme sports videos, and cool, challenging crafts, we showed our kids how to live on the E.D.G.E. in their faith.
A Grand Evening: Growing to Serve with Piano Melodies - Sunday, June 7th, 2009
We celebrated and consecrated our new grand piano. We showcased the piano talents of many people of all ages from our congregation (especially children) and advanced musicians at this free concert, then shared fellowship and dessert afterward.
Overnight Crafter's Stitch & Snip In - May 8 at 5:30 pm til May 9 at 5:30 pm, 2009
We gathered on Friday May 8 at 5:30 p.m. with fellowship, dinner, and worship with crafting afterward. We enjoyed knitting, crafting, scrapbooking, reading, sewing, quilting or many other kinds of hobbies. On Saturday we had breakfast and lunch with worship, fellowship, and crafting all day.
National Day of Prayer - Thursday, May 7, 2009
The Sanctuary of Heritage UMC was open over the lunch hour for anyone to come and pray.
Family Eggstravaganza - Saturday, April 4, 2009
All families were invited to an Easter Celebration featuring an Easter egg hunt, egg dying, pot luck supper, Easter games, and a featured movie.
Morning Prayer Vigil - Saturday, Feb. 14 8:39 am til 12:31 pm, 2009
We hoped you checked out Romans 8:39 and Matthew 12:31 --- since our Prayer Vigil was all about love! We invited everyone to take time to silently walk our Prayer Labyrinth with your ears attuned to what God had to say to you.
Chili Cook-off and Dinner - Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner of chili, cornbread, and a fun dessert! This fundraiser support edour handbells who plan to attend a bell festival in Arizona in summer 2010.
Blood Drive - Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009
We collected 21 pints of blood from 19 experienced donors and 2 new ones. This blood will help save up to 63 lives.
Women's Christmas Brunch - Dec. 13th, 2008
More than 100 women joined together for a fabulous brunch served by the men of Heritage UMC. Each table had been meticulously decorated with fine china, crystal, and silverware by one of many volunteer table hosts. We shared a special time of fellowship as we dined on fresh fruit and quiche. Later, a handbell duet and other musicians played several selections for us, and Rev. Edwina Ward Burton shared an inspiring sermon about women and Christmas celebrations. This event was the second annual gathering for a growing tradition at Heritage UMC.
Children's Saturday Festival - Sat, Oct. 11th, 10 am - 3pm, 2008
Parents accompanied their children to participate in a day of activities for children. The theme of the day was "Jesus as the Bread of Life." We had fun with art work, music, drama, storytelling, and baking bread! Lunch was provided.
Mission Trip to LaPuente Home in Alamosa, CO
Sept. 26 - 28th, 2008
We served as Christ's hands as we helped with maintenance chores at the LaPuente Home.
Rockies Faith Day - Sunday, Aug. 10th 1 pm, 2008 at Coors Field
Fifty five people of all ages enjoyed an afternoon of baseball (Rockies vs. Padres), then a Christian concert, and fellowship afterward.
Trinkets & Treasures - Saturday, August 2nd, 8 am - 4 pm, 2008
We rented out booth spaces for $20 where our congregation sold their Trinkets & Treasures and handmade craft items.
Family Camping Weekend - Friday, July 25 - Sunday July 27, 2008
We enjoyed the great outdoors as we went hiking, mountain biking, played horseshoes and volleyball, and had great fellowship with friends at the Meadows Group campsite in Pike National Forest (near Buffalo Creek, about 45 miles SW of Denver).
Vacation Bible School 2008
Monday-Friday, July 14-18
Morning Session was 9 am - 12 noon was available for ages 3 years up through those who just completed the 5th grade.
Evening Session was 5:30 - 8:00 pm and was available for ALL ages (newborn, children, youth, and adults!)
We visited an exciting beach where we learned the basics of surfing, rode the wave of God’s love, and went home with a new “Beach Be-Attitude.” Be obedient, be kind, be forgiving, be bold, and believe are the essential “Beach Be-Attitudes” that were the focus for our VBS beach outing as we went Surfin’ through the Scriptures.
Ice Cream Social for Young at Hearts (Age 50+) Saturday, June 28th 1: 30 pm
We enjoyed games, ice cream and live entertainment by our own 4 Hymns Barbershop Quartet at Clement Park.


24 Hour Prayer Vigil - May 16-May 17, 2008
We enjoyed a special way to reconnect with God. We offered the opportunity to use our new walking labyrinth for meditative prayer.
Young at Hearts (for age 50+)
Sunday, May 4, 2008. We enjoyed a buffet luncheon and the musical production "THE BASEBALL SHOW" at Heritage Square Music Hall.
Holy Week Worship 2008
Easter Sunday, March 23rd, 9 & 10:30 am Worship 2008 - We celebrated the glorious resurrection of Jesus and the miracle of the empty tomb. We featured our Chancel Choir, our Chancel Chimes Handbells, and the Elevation Praise Band during our Easter Celebration Worship services.
Good Friday, March 21st, 7 pm Worship 2008 - We heard once again about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us when he allowed himself to die upon the cross for our sins. The Chancel Chimes Handbells shared their music with us.
Maundy Thursday, March 20th, 7 pm Worship 2008 - We remembered the evening of the Last Supper and the humble ritual of Jesus as he washed the feet of his disciples. Elevation Praise Band led the music selections.
